Happy New Year (resolutions) to all of us!.

Our first MAHAP General Education Meeting of 2012 is scheduled for Friday, January 27, 2012 at the Mt. Pleasant Comfort Inn Hotel and Conference Center (989-772-4000). We’ll send you a weekly Email reminder every Monday-Tuesday from now up to the January 27 Meeting week. This is just your first reminder to register early and block out your work calendar before others do it for you..

The year may be new, but many of this year’s challenges are the same old problems that we struggled with and defeated (temporarily) in 2011. Our January 27 MAHAP Meeting addresses three nagging problem areas constantly on the minds of Patient Access leaders looking for this year’s answers:

- “Last year was good, but what I need to do next in order to keep increasing Patient-Pay collections in Patient Access?“
- “What am I missing in MVA visit registration and financial clearance that may be keeping our hospital from getting paid? What will the proposed changes in Michigan’s No-Fault Law mean to my hospital?
- “How can we stop the serial whining and finger-pointing between our Patient Access team and our Patient Accounting? What can we try to get them to become a unified Revenue Cycle team?”
